Faculty of Law and Administration
University of Warsaw
The Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw (WPiA UW) announces the establishment of a strategic framework cooperation agreement with the international law firm Greenberg Traurig. The framework agreement provides for extensive collaboration in research and development, expert consulting, as well as project and implementation initiatives focused on bridging science and business.
The ceremonial signing of the agreement was attended by Dr. habil. Sławomir Żółtek, Professor at the University of Warsaw, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration, Dr. habil. Anna Zbiegień-Turzańska, Professor at the University of Warsaw, Vice-Dean for Cooperation with the Socio-Economic Environment, and Dr. Valery Vachev, Head of Legal Studies, along with Jolanta Nowakowska-Zimoch, Managing Partner of Greenberg Traurig Poland, and Dr. Maciej Tąkiel, Director of Business Development and Innovation at Greenberg Traurig, who will also be responsible for implementing the cooperation between the parties.
“Our ambition is to shape academic frameworks based on the highest and most modern global teaching standards. Achieving this goal requires close collaboration with the business community. The legal market is currently highly dynamic—if we want to ensure an up-to-date and innovative approach to education and research, a lasting bridge between leaders in academia, business, and technology is indispensable. We are delighted to welcome Greenberg Traurig to the circle of the Faculty’s strategic partners,”
said Dr. habil. Sławomir Żółtek, Professor at the University of Warsaw, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration.
Similar initiatives are being developed today by leading law schools around the world, including Harvard Law School, University College London, Stanford Law School, University of Cambridge, Singapore Management University, and Bucerius Law School. These institutions collaborate with business partners on projects combining law, technology, and innovation—creating joint research laboratories, educational programs, and spaces for knowledge exchange between academia and practice. As a result, legal education gains an interdisciplinary dimension, responding to the challenges of the modern market.
Jolanta Nowakowska-Zimoch, Managing Partner of Greenberg Traurig Poland, emphasized that cooperation with the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw is both an honor and a great responsibility:
“We aim to strengthen the competencies of the next generation of lawyers and contribute added value in areas where Greenberg Traurig leads the market—with a particular focus on fostering a culture of innovation based on cutting-edge technological solutions. In our profession, this is now a necessity,” she concluded.
